ABOUT
THE VISION BEHIND THE BRAND
About Me
HI, my name is Brendan Concannon and If you’d told me twenty years ago I’d be selling vintage watches, I’d probably have laughed.
I’m a car guy, thats my work flyer you can see just on the left hand side. Most days you’ll find me in the workshop working on classic MGs and Minis, chasing electrical gremlins, rebuilding engines or trying to convince fifty-year-old British engineering to cooperate. I like things that tick, whirr, rattle and occasionally test my patience—which probably explains how I ended up collecting mechanical watches.
Like most collectors, I started with one. Then another. Then a few more. Before I knew it, I’d somehow accumulated enough watches that it was becoming difficult to justify buying the next one… especially when there was always that elusive grail watch sitting somewhere on the horizon.
So this website is partly an excuse to thin out my own collection, partly a way to share watches I genuinely enjoy, and partly to fund the next bad decision. I’ve always had a soft spot for vintage Seikos. They’re well made, dependable, produced in an incredible variety of models and, unlike many vintage brands, they’re still refreshingly affordable. You don’t need to spend a fortune to own a watch with real history and character.
Most of the watches you’ll see here have come from my own collection or are pieces I’ve bought simply because I liked them and thought they deserved another wrist. If I wouldn’t wear it myself, I probably won’t list it.
I should probably mention that I’m not one of those people who loses sleep over whether every single part is exactly as it left the factory in 1972. Vintage watches have lived lives. They’ve been serviced, repaired, polished, had crystals replaced, and occasionally picked up a few battle scars along the way. To me, that’s all part of their story.
Most of my watches are honest, running examples that might gain or lose a little time each day. They’re vintage mechanical watches, after all—not atomic clocks. Some are checked over or lightly serviced by my watchmaker before they’re listed, but unless I specifically say a watch has had a full service, I won’t pretend it has. I’d rather under-promise than over-deliver.
At the end of the day, my goal is pretty simple. Offer interesting vintage watches at fair prices. Describe them honestly. Pack them properly. Answer questions without the sales pitch. And hopefully help someone find a watch they’ll enjoy wearing as much as I’ve enjoyed finding it.
If you’re looking for flawless museum pieces with price tags to match, there are plenty of places that specialise in them.
If you’re looking for an honest vintage watch with a bit of character, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for stopping by. And if you leave here with a watch you didn’t know you needed… don’t worry, that’s exactly how my collection started.
