Vintage 1950's Leonidas Chronograph Mens Watch Pre-Heuer Running Venus 210
Vintage 1950's Leonidas Chronograph Mens Watch Pre-Heuer Running Venus 210
Description
Era: 1940s–1950s
Brand: Leonidas (Pre-Heuer)
A wonderful piece of chronograph history from the days before Leonidas became part of Heuer. This watch has all the character you'd expect from a genuine 1950s tool watch that has lived a full life.
Case:Original chrome-plated base metal case with a screw-down case back. The chrome plating has well worn through in places over the years, revealing the base metal beneath—honest wear that reflects decades of use.
Dial:Original factory-finished matte white/cream dial with beautifully even ageing that has developed into an attractive warm tan/chocolate patina. The original radium lume plots remain at each hour marker, adding to its authentic vintage appeal. The twin sub-dials display the running seconds and chronograph minute counter.
Movement:Powered by the highly regarded 17-jewel Venus 210 manual-wind chronograph movement, signed "Leonidas 17 Jewels." The movement is clean and operates as it should, with all chronograph functions working correctly and resetting crisply back to zero.
Size:33mm wide (excluding crown) x 39mm lug-to-lug.
Overall Condition:This is not a museum piece—and that's exactly why we like it. It wears its decades of history proudly, with a richly patinated dial and honest case wear that can't be faked. Underneath is one of the finest manual-wind chronograph movements of the era, making this a fantastic opportunity to own a genuine vintage Leonidas powered by the sought-after Venus 210.
