Nice clean dial, inner rotating bezel, resets as it should....hands look so good they are probably replacements ...but they are Good!

Case good and sharp, movement good...some marking to the rotor...see pics....much worse in photos.

Seiko 6139-7020 Speed-Timer Automatic Chronograph

Here’s a great opportunity to own one of Seiko’s distinctive vintage Speed-Timer automatic chronographs from the early 1970s.

The 6139-7020 is a particularly interesting Seiko, with its substantial stainless-steel case, black dial, striking red chronograph hand and the unusual blue-and-black 30-minute chronograph register. The “Speed-Timer” script across the dial adds to the unmistakable character of these early Seiko automatic chronographs.

The black dial has developed some lovely signs of age, while the original luminous hour markers and hands remain a real feature of the watch. The day/date display sits neatly at 3 o'clock, and the rotating inner timing scale gives the watch plenty of visual interest.

The stainless-steel case has the typical shape and presence of the 6139 series, with the original-style integrated bracelet completing the look.

This is genuine vintage Seiko, and it has not been dressed up to look like a new watch. There are marks and signs of use consistent with its age, along with some patina to the dial and bezel. Personally, I think that's exactly what makes a 50-year-old watch interesting.

We don't specialise in heavily restored watches. Most of our Seikos are good, honest vintage watches that have survived the years and are ready to be enjoyed. They may not keep time like a modern quartz watch — and if that's what you're after, you're probably in the wrong place!

A proper vintage Seiko chronograph

The 6139 family has become increasingly popular with collectors, and the 6139-7020 offers something a little different from the more commonly seen examples.

With its black dial, blue chronograph register, red hands and chunky 1970s case, it's a great-looking vintage Seiko with plenty of personality.

A genuine vintage watch with genuine vintage character — not perfect, not pretending to be, but a damn good-looking old Seiko.
